Welcome to the Seed Sowing Center!

This center houses the seed library, which includes vegetable and flower seeds, as well as a tool library, which has a small selection of gardening tools. The purpose of this Seed Sowing Center is to help support sustainability in our community by supplying library cardholders with resources that they can use in their gardens.

About the Seed Sowing Kits:

  • Kits are available to Poughkeepsie Public Library District resident cardholders.
  • Limit of one (1) kit per barcode, per growing season.
  • Each kit contains five (5) packets of seeds, randomly selected based on inventory.
  • Seeds are available while supplies last.

Your Seed Sowing Kit order will be available to pick up at your selected library location Check-Out desk after approximately two (2) business days.

Note that your pick-up date may vary because:

  • Each library location has unique hours of operation
  • Observed holiday closures
  • Closures due to weather or emergencies
