Public Computers, Printing, Faxing & Wi-Fi

  • The library provides wireless internet access to everyone during library hours.
  • When you are at the library select our Wi-Fi network on your laptop computer, tablet or phone:
    “Adriance” for while at Adriance
    “PPLD” for Boardman Road
  • Click or tap the “Accept” button to connect to the Wi-Fi network. If you have questions, staff will be able to help on a limited basis.
  • You can also access our Wi-Fi from both Adriance and Boardman Road parking lots during business hours.

SmartALEC Printing Website and Kiosk Information:

Log into the SmartALEC Printing Webpage to upload documents you want to print. To log in, enter your Library Card number and PIN. If you do not have a library card, please use the Guest User button to register for an account.

You can upload documents from anywhere (home, school, mobile device…) and then come into either library location to print from the SmartALEC Printing Kiosk. The documents will be waiting for you. You use your library card (or guest account) to log in at the Kiosk, pay for the prints,  then “release” them to be printed.

SmartALEC is also available as an app for your device! Easily print from their own Smartphone, tablet, or laptop while in your library! Download the App: Google Play or Apple.


Adriance Memorial Library:

Main Floor (M) near Reference Desk (photocopier only)
Paper Options: Letter-sized (8.5″ x 11″) or Legal-Sized (8.5″ x 14″) White Copy Paper
Copies are 15 cents per page for Black and White; 40 cents per page for Color
Accepts coins and bills. No bills larger than $5 accepted.
USB flash drives can be used with copier.

Ground Floor (G) near iCommons (photocopier/SmartALEC Printing Kiosk)
Paper: Letter-sized (8.5″ x 11″) White Copy Paper
Copies/Prints are 15 cents per page for Black and White; 40 cents per page for Color
Cash, MasterCard and Visa are accepted. No Bills larger than $20 accepted.

Boardman Road Branch Library:

Located near Adult Public Computers
Paper: Letter-sized (8.5″ x 11″) White Copy Paper

Cash, MasterCard and Visa are accepted. No Bills larger than $20 accepted.
USB flash drives can be used with copier and SmartALEC Printing Kiosk.

  • As of June 24, 2020: A reduced number of Public Computers are available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • Usage is limited to one hour per day to allow opportunities for others to use the machines.
  • You must have a Library Card to use the public computers. Guest passes are currently suspended.
  • Please sanitize your hands before and after using the machines. Hand sanitizer is provided by the Library District.
  • When you log in to a computer with your library card barcode and PIN, the computer keeps track of time for you. You may use up to 1 hour per day (all at once, or in several sessions). An on-screen timer will help you keep track of your available time. Consecutive usage (up to 1 hour) is dependent on the number of computers available when an hour session has completed.
  • Anytime you are asked for your barcode you need to enter all 14 digits without any spaces. Your PIN is a 4 – 14 alpha-numeric string.
  • Public computers are running Windows 10. They also have Internet Explorer and Chrome for web browsing.
  • Library cards are not transferable; each customer must use their own library card to access the computer.
  • USB flash drives can be used with public computers, scanners, and copier/SAM Printing Kiosks.

Public Fax Machines

The Library District offers a public fax service available at both the Adriance Memorial Library (Ground Floor) or at Boardman Road Branch Library.
Charges are $1.75 for the first page and $1.00 for subsequent pages (domestic calls) and $3.95 for the first page and $3.45 for subsequent pages (international calls). The public fax is self-service; users are prompted by the machine. Instructions are provided in English and in Spanish.

Please note that the service accepts debit or credit cards but no cash. Prepaid fax cards are available at the Checkout Desk and come in a variety of page denominations.


FAXZERO – is a more involved, but free or reduced price web-based fax service. Assistance for this service can be found at the Reference Desk on the Main floor of Adriance Memorial Library. Please note that this service can take up to 30 minutes to complete.

To fax:

  • 1-3 pages, you can use FAXZERO for free. You may send up to 5 free faxes (1-3 pages each fax) per day.
  • 4 or more pages, FAXZERO charges $1.99 per fax (up to 25 pages), payable only through Paypal.

To use FAXZERO, the following information is required:

  • First and last name.
  • An active email address (you will need to log into your email and click a confirmation link to complete the fax process).
  • The fax number you are sending the fax to.
  • Your telephone phone number.
  • For 4 or more pages, a credit card or debit card that can be processed through Paypal or using your Paypal account.

Free, public scanners are available at both library locations. Scanner beds can accommodate up to 8.5″ x 14″ (legal-sized) paper. There are a number of options available with regards to changing the resolution, file format, color, etc… The most common file formats include: PDF, .jpg, .tiff, Text with OCR, searchable PDF with OCR, and more).

Adriance’s scanner is on the Main (M) floor near the Reference Desk.

This scanner is hooked up to a PC. You can scan your documents to either USB Thumb-drive or to the PC (from there you can email it).

Boardman Roads’ scanner is at the end of the row of public computers.

This scanner is a stand alone unit and will scan to USB Thumb-drive.

  • USB flash drives can be used with public computers, scanners, and copier/SAM Printing Kiosks.
  • USB drives are available for purchase at the Circulation Desk for $4.00 for a 8 GB (gigabyte) device.
  • Speakers are not provided on public computers. Customers may bring their own headphones. Headphones are available for purchase at the Circulation Desk for $1.00.
