CreativebugPoughkeepsie Public Library District residents can access online instructional videos that teach you how to paint, knit, sew, crochet, screen print and other creative skills, and is perfect for the beginner as well as advanced crafters! To access, you must create an account using your email, password, and Library Card number. After you have created an account, you may receive periodic updates about new classes from CreativeBug. To opt-out of those emails, click here. Stream from your internet-connected device. No app available.

Freegal –  This music service allows Poughkeepsie Public Library District residents access to about 13 million songs, including Sony Music’s catalog of legendary artists, and over 40,000 music videos. You will need your library card number and PIN. Stream from your internet device.

Gale in Context – Available for Elementary and Middle School aged students.

Hoopla Kids Mode – Available to Poughkeepsie Public Library District resident account holders, Hoopla offer age appropriate e-books, read-along e-books, audio books, movies, music, and comics.

Kid’s Mode limits available content to that appropriate for children 12 and under.  To enter Kids Mode on the Hoopla website, after you have signed in, go to the account settings by clicking on your email address at the top of the page.  Click the Kids Mode check box then scroll down and click Update.  On the Hoopla app (available in your device app store), tap My Hoopla then the settings icon (top right).  Tap Kids Mode then Cancel to go back.  Follow the same steps to exit Kids Mode.

KanopyPoughkeepsie Public Library District residents can view children’s collection by clicking the “Go to Kanopy Kids” from the top menu bar. You will find films and TV series that inspire and inform, helping children develop social emotional skills and reinforcing valuable learning topics, such as history, science, and new languages. Kanopy Kids has a diverse selection of educational and entertaining content that range across Movies, TV Series, Animated Storybooks, Live Action, and Animated favorites.

Libby, by Overdrive –  Download popular children’s and teen’s magazines like Highlights, Time Magazine for Kids, National Geographic for Kids, Minecraft and more! No wait lists or holds, and eMagazines do not count towards checkout limits. To filter magazines to show the children’s selection, go to the left column, under the “Audience” filter, select “Juvenile”. It’s free and easy to get started for new users, and a streamlined experience for current OverDrive app users. Learn more at overdrive.com/apps/libby/. If you currently use the legacy OverDrive app and need assistance, visit https://help.overdrive.com. The Magazine collection is available to all Mid-Hudson Library System patrons.

Transparent Language – provides an effective and engaging experience for language learners looking to build their vocabulary, practice their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, and maintain what they learn.  With courses and supplemental resources in 110+ languages, Transparent Language Online can be accessed anytime, anywhere, on almost any device. Available to all MHLS cardholders, use the “Sign Up” tab to get started.
