The Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District’s mission is to promote the importance of the library as an informational and cultural force in our community. In keeping with that mission, we value the importance of working with our community and, when possible, support donation requests from local organizations.

If you are a local organization seeking a donation of books (or other items), please download and complete our application form and submit in-person at the Friends’ Book Store. The Book Store Committee meets once a month and will review your request and notify you with the outcome. Requests are reviewed in the order they are received. So that we can assist multiple community organizations, please limit your organization’s request to one time per calendar year.
