Welcome to the Seed Sowing Center!
This Center will house a Seed Library, which will include supplies like free seeds for vegetables and flowers, as well as a place to check out gardening tools (coming soon!) and resources. The purpose of this new Seed Sowing Center is to help support sustainability in our community by supplying library cardholders with resources that they can use in their gardens.

About the Seed Sowing Kits:
- Kits are available to Poughkeepsie Public Library District resident cardholders.
- Limit of one kit per barcode, per growing season.
- Each Kit contains five packets of seeds, randomly selected based on category and inventory.
- The Grab Bag is a mix of different categories of seed.
- Substitutions may be made by library staff based on supply.
- The library will not accept requests for specific packets of seeds.
Your Seed Sowing Kit order will be available to pick up at your selected library location Check-Out desk after approx. 2 business days.
Note that your pick-up date may vary because:
- Each library location has unique hours of operation
- Observed holiday closures
- Closures due to weather or emergencies
