Resident library card holders (patrons who reside in the city or town of Poughkeepsie), are eligible to MAP (museum, attractions, parks) passes, the Seed Sowing Center, Tool Library, wifi hotspots, Library of Things, and more! Andrew Carnegie amassed an enormous fortune in the steel industry and then became a major philanthropist. After Carnegie sold his steel company to J.P. Morgan, he gave all his money away by building over 2,500 libraries. Many still exist today. Presented by Rick Feingol who teaches American Business History at Bergen Community College.

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! Register for a special program by signing up for a new library card, or showing us the one you have. Collect different Monster Part cards each week and borrow books to get more cards all month long! Visit the Children’s Room on Monday, September 30 at 4pm to create your own monster. Register at the Children’s Desk at Adriance.
