In the United States, more children ages 1-4 die from drowning than any other cause of death. For children ages 5-14, drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death. Join us for a drowning prevention seminar presented by the Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health. You will learn what a drowning victim looks like, which is often contrary to what is portrayed in the movies and on television. The seminar includes a PowerPoint presentation with videos and is open to anyone interested in increasing their knowledge about this important public health concern. Parents, grandparents, and babysitters are especially encouraged to attend.

How many species of bats are there? Where do they live? Why are they so important to us? What is harming them? Those questions and so much more will be addressed.
