Public Computers, Printing, Faxing & Wi-Fi
The Library District provides wireless internet access to everyone during library hours.
Wi-Fi at Adriance and Boardman Road:
- When in the library, select our Wi-Fi network labeled “PPLD” on your laptop computer, tablet, or mobile phone.
- Click or tap the “Accept” button to connect to the Wi-Fi network. If you have questions, staff will be able to help on a limited basis.
- You can also access our Wi-Fi from both Adriance and Boardman Road parking lots during business hours.
Sadie Petersen Delaney African Roots Branch Library has a separate Wi-Fi network and the name and password is available onsite.
SmartALEC Printing Website and Kiosk Information:
Log into the SmartALEC Printing Webpage to upload documents you want to print. To log in, enter your Library Card number and PIN. If you do not have a library card, please use the Guest User button to register for an account.
You can upload documents from anywhere (home, school, mobile device, etc.) and then come into either library location to print from the SmartALEC Printing Kiosk. The documents will be waiting for you. You use your library card (or guest account) to log in at the Kiosk, pay for the prints, then “release” them to be printed.
SmartALEC is also available as an app for your device! Easily print from their own smartphone, tablet, or laptop while in your library! Download the App: Google Play or Apple.
Adriance Memorial Library:
Main Floor (M) near Reference Desk (photocopier only)
Paper Options: Letter-sized (8.5″ x 11″) or Legal-Sized (8.5″ x 14″) White Copy Paper
Copies are 15 cents per page for Black and White; 40 cents per page for Color
Accepts coins and bills. No bills larger than $5 accepted.
USB flash drives can be used with copier.
Ground Floor (G) near iCommons (photocopier/SmartALEC Printing Kiosk)
Paper: Letter-sized (8.5″ x 11″) White Copy Paper
Copies/Prints are 15 cents per page for Black and White; 40 cents per page for Color

Boardman Road Branch Library:
Located near Adult Public Computers

Sadie Peterson Delaney African Roots Branch Library:
Printing is available from public computers in the Computer Lab to the printer at the circulation desk.
Patrons may print up to 20 pages, at no charge, per day. Additional copies must be paid for at the circulation desk.
A current library card is required to pay for printing.
Copies/Prints are 15 cents per page for Black and White; 40 cents per page for Color on Letter-sized (8.5″ x 11″) White Copy Paper.
Cash (no bills larger than $20), MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
Usage is limited to one hour per day to allow opportunities for others to use the machines. When you log in to a computer with your library card barcode and PIN, the computer’s on-screen timer helps keep track of your time for you.
Depending on computer availability, you may be able to extend your computer use up to three additional hours.
You must have a Library Card to use the public computers.
Please sanitize your hands before and after using the machines. Hand sanitizer is provided by the Library District.
Anytime you are asked for your barcode, you need to enter all 14 digits without any spaces. Your PIN is a 4 – 14 alpha-numeric string.
Public computers are running Windows 10 at Adriance and Windows 7 at Boardman Road. They also have Internet Explorer and Chrome for web browsing.
Library cards are not transferable; each customer must use their own library card to access the computer.
USB flash drives can be used with public computers, scanners, and copier/SAM Printing Kiosks.
Fax machines are self-service and library staff are available to assist as needed upon request.
Free, public scanners are available at all Library District locations. Scanner beds can accommodate up to 8.5″ x 14″ (legal-sized) paper. There are many options available in regard to changing the resolution, file format, color, etc. The most common file formats include: PDF, .jpg, .tiff, Text with OCR, searchable PDF with OCR, and more.
Adriance Memorial Library: the scanner is on the Main (M) floor near the Reference Desk.
This scanner is hooked up to a PC. You can scan your documents to USB flash drive, directly to an email address, or to the PC.
Boardman Road Branch Library: the scanner is at the end of the row of public computers.
This scanner is a stand-alone unit that will scan to a USB flash drive.
Sadie Peterson Delaney African Roots Branch Library: Scanning available from scanner at the circulation desk.
Scanned documents can be sent to email or to a thumb (USB) drive.
USB flash drives can be used with public computers, scanners, and copier/SAM Printing Kiosks.
USB flash drives are available for purchase at the Circulation Desk for $4 for a 8 GB (gigabyte) device.
Speakers are not provided on public computers. Customers may bring their own headphones. Headphones are available for purchase at the Circulation Desk for $1.
