Historical New York Times – Online provides full text coverage of the New York Times from 1851 through 2005 and is searchable by keyword (“Titanic sinks”) or by date (April 16, 1912). Scroll through all related articles, or use the Page Map to view the entire page and navigate through the paper from first page to last. Offsite access limited to Poughkeepsie Public Library District residents.

News (Gale OneFile) – Full-text newspaper articles from newspapers across the country and around the world, including the New York Times (1985-present), the New York Post, The Daily News, the Albany Times Union and other newspapers.

Newspapers.com – NY features page image newspapers that are keyword searchable from many parts of New York State. The Poughkeepsie Eagle News is available from November 30, 1861 – December 30, 1922 (with some coverage gaps).  Also included are the Kingston Daily Freeman (1873-1977), and the Middletown Herald and variant names (1894-1970s). Offsite access limited to Poughkeepsie Public Library District Cardholders. ***If you are inside a PPLD library building, click HERE for immediate access.

The Library District owns a complete run, on microfilm, of the Poughkeepsie Journal and its antecedents going back to 1785. The list below reflects all of the newspapers we have on microfilm at Adriance Memorial Library.

Adriance Memorial Library has three microfilm readers available on a first come, first served basis. You may print black and white, 8.5×11 copies for .20/each. The microfilm reader accepts only dimes. There is a change machine that accepts bills near the Reference Desk.
