Save Energy Costs: Borrow a Home Energy Assessment Kit by HomeBoost
Discover how you can reduce your energy bill and make your home more energy efficient.
This kit is made possible in collaboration with Central Hudson, HomeBoost, and the Mid-Hudson Library System.
Loan Period: Seven (7) Days (non-renewable)
Available to: Poughkeepsie Public Library District residents, 18 and over, with a PPLD Library Card for at least six months and with no fines.
Pick Up/Return: Adriance Memorial Library Checkout Desk or Boardman Road Branch Library Checkout Desk.
Number of Kits Available: One for iPhone, One for Android.
Android Kit Contains: Carrying case, charging cable, UV flashlight, and USB thermal camera.
iPhone Kit Contains: Carrying case, charging cable, UV flashlight, lightning thermal camera, and USB thermal camera.
Fines: $20 if returned to Bookdrop (plus damages); $5 late fee per day.

What you need to use the HomeBoost kit:
- A Central Hudson account. You must be an active Central Hudson customer when you sign up. You do not need your Central Hudson account number to use the service.
- A smartphone (Android or iPhone)
- The HomeBoost app – which will guide you step-by-step
- Home info: the year your home was built, square footage, heating systems, and window types improve your report accuracy (though not required).
