Care:
- Before playing, please wash your hands. A simple yet important thing to keep in mind is to keep grease and dirt off the body and strings of the ukulele.
- After playing, please wipe the strings with a paper towel to get off any dirt or duct the strings may have attracted.
- When not playing the ukulele, please keep it in its case to reduce any chance of damage.
- Additionally, when storing the ukulele, keep it in a room where the temperature doesn’t fluctuate often. Remember, the body is made of wood, which will expand and contract depending on the temperature.
Tuning:
- The string letter names closest to you are E, A, D, G, B, E. There is a handy mnemonic to memorize the string names: Every Amateur Does Get Better Eventually.
- For tuning, the app “Guitar Tuna” is a good choice. The app’s “Auto” feature detects what string you are trying to tune, which simplifies the process.
