Virtual Narcan Training

The Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health online training session explains how/when to administer Narcan. Naloxone (Narcan) is a medication that reverses an overdose by blocking heroin or other opioids in a person’s brain for 30 to 90 minutes. While there is no age minimum for the training, only those 18 years of age and older are eligible to receive a free Narcan kit post-training. Kits will be available from Krista Miller at Adriance Memorial Library. Registration with birth date required. A link will be emailed prior to the training.

Come learn the secret to clearing the fear by becoming grateful and happy. Champa Patel will facilitate this conversation that will focus on how to be resilient and not let adversity or setbacks overwhelm you; how to build your energy and resilience; how to thrive under pressure and challenges that come from the body; and how to let the energy of optimism fuel hope and enthusiasm. Through hands-on experience, participants collect beads representing their carbon molecules as they traverse the biosphere, lithosphere, atmosphere, and hydrosphere. Along the way, you will discover where carbon gets stuck and gain insights into how human activities have impacted this essential cycle. This interactive program not only educates on the intricacies of the carbon journey but also fosters a deeper understanding of our environmental responsibilities.
