The Big Read Film Series concludes on November 14 with Hitler’s Children, a documentary about the descendants of the men and women who committed one of the worst crimes in history. Their family names alone evoke horror: Himmler, Goering, Hoess. What is it like to have grown up with a name that immediately raises images of murder and genocide? How do they cope with the fact that they are the children of those who conducted such horrors? In interviews, they explain how, for more than sixty years, they have lived in the shadows, trying to rebuild their lives with the constant reminders of what their fathers and grandfathers once did. The film will be shown at 1:30 pm in the Charwat Room at Adriance Memorial Library.
