Use the Library Extension to easily find the books you want at the Library District as you browse for titles on sites like Amazon, Good Reads, and Barnes & Noble! This extension is currently compatible with Google’s Chrome Browser for desktop computers only.
To get started, visit www.LibraryExtension.com, and click the Install on Chrome button.
Click the Add to Chrome button.
Click Add Extension in the pop-up window (if you block pop-ups, you will need to enable them).
Now that the extension is enabled, click the Library Extension Icon in the upper right-hand side of your Browser to set up your library. Select New York then Poughkeepsie Public Library District from the Drop Down Menus, and click the big Green Plus Sign to add Poughkeepsie Public Library District, and you’re done!
As you browse books and eBooks on sites like Amazon, Good Reads, Barnes & Noble, and Google Books, the Library Extension checks the Mid-Hudson Library System’s Catalog of over 2.5 million books, audiobooks, eBooks, and eAudiobooks, and displays the availability of those items on the same page. If the book is available at your library, you’ll know instantly – and have a quick, convenient link to reserve the title!
Note: If you are simultaneously logged into your OverDrive account, additional content available to only Library District patrons will be displayed.
If you have any questions, you can contact Casey Conlin at cconlin@poklib.org.
