Adult Summer Reading:

New this summer – the Summer Reading Challenge! Sign up at the circulation desk at Boardman Road or the reference desk at Adriance and receive a Bookmark Checklist (important – hang on to this) and Notebook (to jot down your thoughts about the books you’ve read).

Try to read one book from each category below before our August 22nd End of Summer Party where we’ll have a make your own sundae bar, yummy treats and get a chance to share all the books we loved (or hated). Your checked-off bookmarks will be entered into a drawing for special prizes that will be announced at the party!

Registration is encouraged for the End of Summer Party.

Reading Challenge – read a:

1) Political book
2) Fictional book
3) Non-fiction book
4) Poetry book
5) Book set in New York State
6) Book published or set in the year of your birth
7) Young adult book
8) Any book with a movie adaptation, and watch the movie!

Don’t know where to start? Grab a book off the Blind Date with a Book display available at either Library. Blind Date books are selected by Poughkeepsie Library staff with the Challenge checklist in mind.
