August 26: Whisper To The Blood by Dana Stabenow
As the new chairperson of Ninilta’s Native Association, Alaskan private investigator Kate Shugak is bombarded with questions about the proposed gold-mining operation’s impact on wilderness residents. Complicating the unrest are two murders and several nasty snowmobile attacks. Recurring characters enrich the story set in the Iqaluk Wildlife Refuge.
September 30: Three Sisters by James Doss
One of three daughters of a wealthy rancher is found dead, apparently mauled by a wild animal. Suspicions of foul play arise and the death is investigated by Charlie Moon, a Ute tribal investigator, his Aunt Daisy, and personal friend, Police Chief Scott Parris. Meanwhile, the dead woman’s sisters - Cassandra, a famous TV psychic, and Beatrice - vie for the attention of their sister Astrid’s widower, who has secrets of his own.
