Holiday Train Show at NYBG

Join the Friends for a special family-friendly Winter Break day-trip to the Holiday Train Show® at the New York Botanical Garden!

On Friday, December 29, 2017 the Friends will leave the Spratt Park parking lot (near Concession stand) at 9:00 AM via luxury motor coach to the New York Botanical Garden to view the enchanting model trains of the Holiday Train Show.

Trains zip through a display of 150 landmarks, each re-created with bark, leaves, and other natural materials—all under the twinkling glow of the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. Marvel at G-scale locomotives humming along among familiar sights such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Rockefeller Center on nearly a half-mile of track.

Lunch options include the Pine Tree Café or you may bring your own. The Pine Tree Café offers a family-friendly menu that ranges from artisanal Panini, Neapolitan-style pizza, and signature salads to sweet treats and snacks. For Café info and pricing:

Finally, be sure to visit the NYBG Shop which offers gardening tools and accessories, botanical books, prints, rare plants, and unique gifts for the garden lover.

Meet back up at the motor coach at 2:00 PM for the return to Poughkeepsie (approx. 3:30 PM)

During the Holiday Train Show®, weather permitting, the Garden Tram will be available to guests.  Our Ross Gallery will also feature an exhibition (to be determined as we get closer to the date).
