Join the Friends for this exciting trip to NYC!
As a tie-in to this year’s Big Read, the Friends will visit the National Museum of the American Indian and be led on a specially-guided tour of the exhibit, Infinity of Nations, which features works of art from throughout Native North, Central, and South America, with more than 700 works on display.

Our next stop is to Bryant Park, which will be transformed into a Winter Village, for lunch on your own from one of the many eateries or gourmet kiosks. Be sure to browse the special Holiday Shops selling artisanal food and gifts or try out the ice skating rink!

Finally, we will meet up at the NYPL for a private tour of the landmark Stephen A. Schwarzman Building which features the Library’s must-see spaces—including the recently restored Rose Main Reading Room and the Library’s exhibitions.

Space is limited and available on a first-come, first served basis.
- 7:00 AM – Depart for NYC from Spratt Park parking lot (nearest Concession Stand)
- 10:30 AM – Tour National Museum of American Indian
- 12:30 PM – Take motor coach uptown to Bryant Park. Enjoy lunch and shopping.
- 3:00 PM – Tour the NYPL’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Building
- 5:00 PM – Depart for Poughkeepsie from Bryant Park
The Museum of the American Indian visitors are required to walk through a metal detector. Those who are unable to go through the metal detector will be hand-screened with an electronic wand by security personnel. Bags will be checked by hand. Please consider leaving any items that need to be checked by security at home to speed entry.
Do not bring large daypacks, or backpacks into the museums, as they will be subject to a lengthy search in each building entered. If possible, leave such items on the tour bus.
Do not bring any sharp items into the museums such as knives (including pocket or “Swiss Army”-style knives), screwdrivers, scissors, etc. Other items not permitted include firearms, pepper spray, and Mace.
Are there minimum age requirements to attend the event?
Children aged 18 years and under must be accompanied by a paying adult.
What can I bring into the event?
You may bring a small cooler bag and snacks on the bus. Please note that you may leave items on the bus however the Friends of the PPLD and JTR Transportation cannot be held responsible for any loss or theft.

What’s the refund policy?
Tickets for this event are non-refundable. You may transfer your ticket to another person however please notify us of the change.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Please bring a copy of your registration for verification upon boarding the motor coach.
